On January 13, 2010, Pepsi.com is launching a new project to give away $20 million dollars through an online campaign.
For the first time in 23 years, Pepsi has opted out of this year's Super Bowl commercials. Instead of spending millions of dollars in ads, the company is giving that money away.
RefreshEverything.com is a new Pepsi web site that is now accepting applications for thousands of dollars in grant money.
Grant prizes range between $5,000 and $250,000 awards. Applicants must be 13 or older and religious activities will not be accepted.
Pepsi has posted on the site an Idea Toolkit so applicants can download requirements for how each proposal should be formatted. Starting Feb.1, Internet users will begin voting for which projects should be awarded the prizes.
