OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Zoo has the perfect solution for working parents who need a place for their kids while school is out for the cold weather.

A special Cold Weather Safari Camp is being held for a cost of $20 per child Friday January 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Age appropriate activities in the Conservation Education Center may include live animal encounters, crafts, stories, songs, discovery stations and more. The camp was put together as a community service since many parents were left without plans thanks to the cold weather snap.

Children are asked to bring a sack lunch and parents may drop off their kids as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick them up no later than 5:30 p.m.

Attendance is limited to the first 100 children between the ages of 4 and 15. Call (405) 425-0218 for registration or information, or visit the OKC Zoo's Web site.
