Police Investigating Deadly Overnight Shooting, Robbery

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police are searching for three suspects involved in an overnight robbery and deadly shooting.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Wentwood at Grand Hill Apartments located near E. Reno Avenue and Interstate 40.

Police said 22-year-old Michael Jacob Brooks was robbed and found shot inside a car in the parking lot at 403 Tinker Diagonal Street. Brooks was taken to a hospital but officials say he was dead on arrival.

Witnesses to the crime claim to have been robbed by three black males while in the complex. The witnesses were not injured.

Police believe these three suspects were also involved in the shooting and investigators recovered items of evidence at the scene, which will be processed in the coming days.

Investigators do not believe this homicide is related to the November shooting death of Daniel Prieto at the same complex.
