Midwest City Police Searching for Shooting Suspect

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- Midwest City police are searching for the suspect who shot a man several times after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Police said 25-year-old Jonathan Lewallen is suspected of shooting his friend Odell Brown at the Spring Tree Apartments, 7000 block of E. Reno.

According to Brown, he had picked Lewallen up earlier in the day and took him to a local grocery store.

Once they returned to Lewallen's apartment, Brown said Lewallen went inside his residence and came back to Brown who was sitting in his car on the west side of the complex. At that point, Brown says Lewallen shot at him three times, striking him once in the face and once in the neck.

Lewallen then fled on foot and Brown staggered to a nearby convenience store where 911 was notified.

Brown was taken to OU Medical Center where he underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition.
