OKLAHOMA CITY – A barn was destroyed by fire Friday evening in northeast Oklahoma City. Several horses were trapped in a corral, but they were set free by firefighters who say the fire may have been accidentally set by workers.

The flames quickly swept through the structure in the 6900 block of East Wilshire Boulevard.

The cause of the fire appears to have been an open pit fire. That apparently angered the owner of the property. Authorities say 40-year-old Steven Greer showed up at the scene drunk and began threatening firefighters.

The barn appears to be a complete loss.
