Recipes for Healthy Halloween Snacks

Monster Smiles

Ingredients: Granny Smith apples

Slivered almonds

Quarter and core an apple, cut a wedge from the skin side of each quarter, then press slivered almonds in place for teeth.

Edible Eyeballs

Ingredients: Carrots

Cream cheese

Black olives

Slice carrots into about ½ inch pieces, top each with a blob of cream cheese and add one half a pitted black olive.

Spiders

Ingredients: Round crackers

Peanut butter

Pretzel sticks

Raisins

Make a cracker sandwich and insert 8 pretzels into the sandwich filling. Use a dab of peanut butter to secure the eyes.

Finger Food

Ingredients: Mozzarella string cheese

Cream cheese

Sweet pickles

Wear plastic gloves to keep the cheese smudge free. Use a paring knife to cut the string cheese in half and then carve out a shallow area for the fingernail. Mark the joint just below the fingernail and the knuckle joint by caring out tiny wedges of cheese. Use whole sweet pickles and cut pieces at a slant place them onto the cheese.
