OKLAHOMA CITY -- The rain is certainly not dampening school spirit in Stillwater where Oklahoma State's homecoming is just days away.

The pressure is on to finish up those homecoming displays. Students are putting on the last minute touches for this Oklahoma State tradition.

“It's going to be super exciting. I've heard so much about it,” said OSU student Ashley Duvall.

Fraternities and sororities team up to show their school spirit in large, elaborate yard displays.

The weather didn’t stop Sigma Chi members from putting on finishing touches to their display. They've been working since the beginning of the school year, some putting in more hours than others.

“We had it hard the first week and we got the whole frame put up and took a break for a couple weeks. This past week everyone went on fall break and had fun, we worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,” said Jake Halverson.

And now their down to the wire. This team is going for first place. House decorations are judged on design, engineering and pomping.

“You take the two pieces of tissue and wrap it around the pencil, there's already glue on the screen and you stick it in the wire,” Duvall said.

The tedious task takes hours, even if it means cutting class.

“I personally have not, but I do know people that have,” said OSU student Sarah Stark.

OSU homecoming is this Saturday. The Pokes take on Missouri at 8:15 p.m.
