OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association has suspended two Jenks High School football coaches.

OSSAA completed an executive session to review the findings from the investigation into the Jenks School Districts athletic department.

The OSSAA Board decided to accept the school's self imposed penalties, but the board wants an indefinite suspension of Head Coach Allen Trimble and Assistant Coach David Alexander. Those suspensions can be revisited in June.

As News9.com and OKBlitz.com have reported, last Friday afternoon the district released the results of the investigation, which it had requested from the Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold law firm in Tulsa.

That investigation centered on former Jenks football player Jarrett Lake and six other unnamed players, one of which is still on the team.

The independent investigation found that monetary gifts have been given to players, there were recruiting violations and the investigation found evidence suggesting the football program tried keeping the information hidden from school administrators.

All of this was found after the school was tipped off about one of their star athletes, who because of residency issues should not have been on the team. The board had spoken about it previously.

"If you have a kid walk in that you don't know where they came from, you better find out cause somebody knows," said Stephanie Spring, the OSSAA Board President.

This led to the suspension of Jenks head football coach Allan Trimble for the rest of the season, a 15-day suspension for Jenks athletic director Tony Dillingham as well as lesser punishment for other members of the Jenks High School football program.

The district said it meted out the penalties to the staff members in an attempt to head off even harsher sanctions from the OSSAA.

Jenks officials are also hiring a "compliance officer" in an effort to prevent similar accidents in the future.
