PAULS VALLEY, Oklahoma -- A historic hotel in Pauls Valley was destroyed by a fire Thursday morning.

Crews in Pauls Valley were called to the Alvis Hotel Thursday morning. Firefighters refer to it as the "Old Hotel."

The abandoned building sits across from the railroad depot and was built more than 100 years ago. A furniture store next door also received some damage from the fire.

Local historians are saddened. They said the hotel was a landmark in the town and it's a huge loss.

Fire crews are investigating how the fire started.
