OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police are investigating a shooting that killed one person and injured another.

Police said they were called to the 3200 block of NW 30th regarding a shooting at about 5:40 p.m. Officers found 19-year-old Bradley Wahnee, a sophomore at Oklahoma City University, and 19-year-old Rogelio Saavedra with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the front yard of a residence. Wahnee was pronounced dead at the scene and Saavedra was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition. He is expected to recover.

According to police the two victims were working on a vehicle in a driveway at 3226 N.W. 30th Street when they noticed an orange truck circling the house. An unknown number of suspects then opened fire.

"We're investigating the possibility of a drive-by shooting. We're not exactly sure whether the suspects were inside the vehicle or outside the vehicle at the time of the shooting," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Don Holland.

The suspects' vehicle is described as an older model orange utility truck that once belonged to OG&E. The OG&E emblems had been removed or painted over.

A memorial service was held for Wahnee Wednesday night at OCU.

Clinton Normore, OCU director of multicultural student affairs, said Wahnee was a quiet, soft-spoken student but also hardworking.

"He was just starting to find his voice and come into his own, not just as a student but as an individual," Normore said.

Sarah Jensen is on the student advisory board for a scholarship that Wahnee was awarded.

"It's based on community service and being a great leader in the community. I think he would probably fit those qualities," Jensen said.

Only 15 Native Americans out of 300 applicants received the award. It's a testament to how hard of a working student Wahnee was.

Police are still looking for the suspects but said since the shooting happened in the middle of the day, police have spoken with several witnesses.

The Bradley Wahnee Memorial Fund has been set up at BancFirst locations. Contributions can be made at any BancFirst location to the attention of William Foote Jr.

Anyone with information regarding this homicide should call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
