OKLAHOMA CITY -- The 28th annual OKC Storytelling Festival kicks off today at Stage Center in downtown Oklahoma City.

The festival, formerly known as Winter Tales, is produced by the Oklahoma City Arts Council.   Featuring Kevin Kling, Motoko, Susan Klein, and Minton Sparks, the OKC Storytelling Festival pulls from a roster of world-class artists.

Featured artist Motoko took some time out to share stories of her native Japan with students at Sequoyah Elementary in northwest Oklahoma City.

"Children these days are saturated with videos, television, and movies," said Motoko.  "And all of those things lack one-on-one interaction, and that is the whole point of storytelling."

The OKC Storytelling Festival also features workshops with Kling, Motoko, Klein and Sparks.
