OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum announced it had made layoffs Friday.
Executive Director Kari Watkins said three of their 24 employees were let go.
Watkins said donations are still coming in strong, but an aging facility and rising costs made the layoffs necessary in order to maintain the memorial's long term health.
"If we want to be around for 150 years, we have to make smart business decisions like every other business," Watkins said.
The memorial's $3 million budget is completely funded by private donations and admission.
