OKLAHOMA CITY -- An organization that gives so much to the community found itself on the receiving end Friday.

Thursday, the Jesus House received a service cutoff notice from Oklahoma Natural Gas for failure to pay the gas bill of $2,063.07.

Jesus House President and CEO Jan Mercer said the non-profit had also not been able to pay its employees for about three weeks.

But thanks to numerous Oklahomans, everything has been taken care of.

"We're just so blessed. We had a guy come by and pay our gas bill, thank you God. We're working on that. And I just scrounged up enough money to give everyone a paycheck," Mercer said.

Mercer said she was grateful for everyone who pitched in to help the Jesus House.

If you want to help, you can write a check to Jesus House or call 405-232-7164 to donate by credit card.
