TULSA, Oklahoma -- Two males are in custody following a home invasion that took place at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3300 block of North Lansing Place.
A Tulsa woman was home alone with her two small children when three men kicked in the door and entered the residence, according to an on-scene report.
As the family hid in a closet, the men took a television and Playstation and fled the home.
Police were in the area when the call came through but were intially given the wrong address.
As the responding officers approached the incorrect house, they heard a gunshot nearby. Police then found the correct house and recovered the stolen merchandise in a nearby backyard where it had apparently been abandoned.
Along with the electronic equipment, Tulsa officers found a single-shot shotgun with an empty shell that they believe was the source of the gunshot. An officer at the scene said the shotgun may have gone off as the men threw down the merchandise and ran.
After calling in a canine officer, two of the men were discovered hiding in the brush just off a nearby jogging trail. They were taken into custody as persons of interest.
No one was injured in the incident.
