OKLAHOMA CITY -- The third victim shot in the Seminole shoot-out last Sunday spoke out about her traumatic experience.

Jennifer Bowen is still recovering in the hospital after a bullet when through her arm and into her chest, where the bullet is still lodged. Bowen also suffered a broken rib. But while her injuries will heal, the memories of that terrifying day will be with her for the rest of her life.

Bowen said Sunday started out just like any normal day.

"I went walking downtown with my kids. We always go walking, and I went to Family Dollar and both of them picked out a bag of candy apiece," Bowen said.

Bowen and her family arrived back at home, and right across the street police were swarming. She said 3-year-old daughter was by her side.

"And then shots fired. I pushed her away. And I got shot. I remember turning around, and then grabbing her and taking her into the house. And then I fell. That's all I remember," Bowen said.

The shooter was Ezekiel Holbert. Seminole County Deputies Chase Whitebird and Marvin Williams were also shot, both men died.

While deputies' families are mourning for their loss, Bowen said her children are suffering too.

"It hurt because my oldest daughter wouldn't even come to me. So, it hurt. And then um, she called last night, and she's starting to have nightmares about what happened. They say she wakes up asking for me and to see if I'm okay," she said.

Bowen was able to see her two young daughters on Wednesday, but she doesn't know when she will be released from the hospital.

A fund for Bowen's medical expenses has been set up at the First United Bank of Seminole.
