7-Year-Old Takes Car to Avoid Church

Weber County Sheriff's deputies said a 7-year-old boy took his father's car last Sunday because he didn't want to go to church.

WEBER COUNTY, Utah -- Weber County Sheriff's deputies said a 7-year-old boy took his father's car last Sunday because he didn't want to go to church.

Authorities said dash cam video from a sheriff's deputy cruiser captured the entire trip. The boy managed to keep the car in control and stayed in appropriate lanes, despite blowing through at least one stop sign and not stopping at several turns.

The deputy followed the car until it eventually came to a stop. The deputy was then surprised when the car door opened and a little boy jumped out and ran into a building.

The boy is too young to face any charges.
