OKLAHOMA CITY -- Heavy rains across the state have caused flooding in parts of Deer Creek.

The following roads are closed in the Deer Creek area:

- NW 178th Street between Portland Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard

- NW 220th Street between Portland and May avenues

- Meridian Avenue between NW 164th and NW 192nd streets

Drivers in the area are cautioned to avoid roads with flooding. The depth of the water and the stability of the ground underneath the flooded area are difficult to determine.

It takes only two feet of rushing water to carry away a vehicle during heavy flooding, including trucks and SUVs.
