Suspect Arrested in Connection to Child Left at 7-11

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma - The 27-year-old stepfather of a 4-year-old boy found alone at a 7-11 store July 1 has been arrested on an outstanding felony child neglect warrant from Oklahoma County.

Frank Jones claimed he was in the shower when the boy walked away from their apartment, NE 10th and Air Depot. Jones said he looked for him before calling police. The boy was reported abandoned at about noon and no relative called to report him missing until 5 p.m. after his picture was shown on local TV stations.

Jones was arrested on child neglect complaints due to the incident as well as two previous incidents where the boy walked away on his own in both Del City and Norman.

Jones is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Midwest City Police Department awaiting transfer to the Oklahoma County jail.
