Too Many People to Mention

There were too many stories to include in the on-air broadcast. One came from a lady who knew Hopgood since he was a little boy. She asked to remain anonymous, but sent me a statement, detailing her ordeal.

Baron approached me around late August 2008 or early September 2008 about working for him as an administrator in his "Baron Hopgood Ministries" for a sum or $30,000.00 per year. I was informed that I could work at home by contacting ministries from a database that he supplied and I was to book an engagement date for Baron to minister to their church. I revised the media packet and worked the list the months of October and November 2008. I finally received my first pay check November 21, 2008 in the amount of $1,000.00 written on a business check from Chase Bank in the name of Optasia. On December 12, 2008 I received my second check in the amount of $1,200.00 written on the same business account; however, I checked my bank account on-line and saw that the first check in the amount of $1,000 had been returned twice. I informed Baron that night and he seemed very surprised and said he would make it good, but the $1,200 check was good. On Saturday, December 13, 2008 I went to the Chase bank to cash the check and as I drove into the parking lot of the bank Baron texted me that he was transferring the money and give him a little time. On Tuesday, December 16, 2008 I went to Chase bank and spoke with an officer of the bank and she informed me that the check was no good and would not clear the bank now or ever. She knew she should not have told me that but she did not want me to continue to come back to check to see if it would clear when she could clearly see the pattern and knew it would never clear.

Baron left me a voice mail on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 informing me that he was not broke and that I should be patient with him so he can transfer the money. He also turned the tables to make me look like the bad guy because me and Courtney spoke about us not getting a good paycheck. He informed me how disappointed he was because I spoke with Courtney and he did not appreciate us gossiping. He ranted and raved until he filled up my voice mail.

Well, needless to say, I have not to this day received the money nor have Baron offered an explanation or a workout plan to pay the money. I owe my bank for the $1,000 and have had to retain an attorney to try and collect the $1,200 so I can pay the bank and retrieve the $1,000 check to file with the District Attorney.
