A 32-year-old Seminole man died Saturday evening when his pickup left the highway and struck a cement embankment, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Christopher R. Heathcott died of massive injuries at the scene.
The accident took place at about 6:30 p.m. on Highway 3 near E.W. 117 Road in Seminole County. A woman passenger was taken by Med Flight helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City while an infant male was uninjured.
Heathcott was northbound on Highway 3 near 117 Road when his pickup left the highway to the east. He apparently overcorrected, and the vehicle struck a cement embankment and came to rest on a pipe fence west of the highway.
Adrian D. Heathcott, 31, also of Seminole, sustained head and internal injuries in the accident and is listed in stable condition. Jake H. Heathcott, an infant who was in a child restraint seat, was uninjured.
Neither of the adult passengers was wearing safety belts, the trooper noted. Air bag equiptmen was deployed.
