OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City man was arrested for threatening his ex girlfriend then allegedly stabbed her friend after he was served a VPO.

Oklahoma City Police Sergeant Jennifer Wardlow said Todd Russell went to his ex girlfriend's apartment late Monday night. He opened the door and started stabbing his ex girlfriend's friend with a pocket knife.

Wardlow said Russell ran off before police arrived. A short time later, he started calling his ex girlfriend on the phone.

"He continued to call our female victim back threatening her numerous times that the police were not going to catch him. At one point he even stated that he could see officers in the area and told the victim that officers would not be able to locate him," Wardlow said.

However, officers caught up with Russell and arrested him at a convenience store at Southwest 47th Street and May Avenue while he was still on the phone with her.

The stabbing victim did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.
