OKLAHOMA CITY - The mother of a 2-year-old who died after allegedly drowning at Lake Stanley Draper could face charges, according to prosecutors.

Donald Reeser has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Allie Croom for allegedly dunking the child over and over until she drowned.

Allie's mother, Amber, said it was an accident and sent Reeser's attorney a three-page testimony of her account from the incident.

In the testimony Amber Croom stated the one time Reeser may have dunked Allie was just to get mud off the child. She went on to state that the other two children present were also dunking Allie.

But prosecutor have not ruled out charging Amber as well.

"She's being very vocal about her story and we do not believe that story is true," said Cleveland County Assistant District Attorney David Brockman. "If she's covering something up and we can prove that then she very well may be charged."

Just last week, Latrice Russell was charged in the murder of her 6-month-old daughter along with the baby's father, Willis Lambert. Russell was not home when the child was allegedly shaken by Lambert, but prosecutors say she had the responsibility to take care of the child since Lambert had previously spent time in prison for injuring one of their other children.

Amber Croom would not comment on the possibility of facing charges.

Reeser is in the Cleveland County jail on a $1 million bond.
