Man Shot at Bethany Apartment Complex

BETHANY, Oklahoma -- A man was transported to the hospital after being shot Wednesday morning at a Bethany apartment complex.

Bethany police were called to the Keara Woods apartments on NW 32 Street after someone found the victim's body lying near a unit, with a gunshot wound to the head.

A neighbor told police he heard arguing a couple times in the night and even saw the body but didn't realize a vicious crime had been committed.

"At about 4 a.m. this same person looked out the window and saw a subject laying in front of the apartment complex. He advised us that he assumed the man was intoxicated and had passed out," said Bethany Police Chief Phil Cole.

The victim, Jose Morales, is in critical condition.

Police are searching for the gunman. They believe the shooter may have been driving a maroon lowered Ford Expedition.
