The Los Angeles Clippers' front office has messed up draft and trade decisions before, but this one is was a foregone conclusion the day Clippers president Andy Roeser opened his jacket at the NBA draft lottery to reveal Griffin's #23 stitched on the inside.

The Clippers then turned Griffin's workout into a media spectacle, opening the session up to the media and select season ticket holders.

Griffin was the near-unanimous selection for every player of the year award in college basketball. He finished the season with a Big 12 record 30 double-doubles.

He also set the single season conference rebounding record with 504. Griffin has a rare combination of strength and athleticism, making him the clear choice for the first overall draft pick. Let's just hope the curse of the Clippers doesn't strike.
