Consumer Watch: Get Motivated Advertises Conflicting Prices

Have you seen the ads for "Get Motivated"? It sounds like the event will truly be motivational, but I got a complaint about the fee. So I did some digging and what I found is it is a good deal as long as you know what to ask for.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Have you seen the ads for "Get Motivated"? It sounds like it will truly be motivational - with big names like Joe Montana, Zig Ziglar, General Colin Powell, Steve Forbes, Bob Stoops, Rudy Giuliani, and the list goes on.

But I got a complaint about the fee. So I did some digging and what I found is it is a good deal as long as you know what to ask for.

The ad says you can take your whole office, no limit, for $19. But I received a complaint about that. A woman emailed me to say that when she called to get the tickets, the salesperson told her it would cost her $59.

So I got on the phone and sure enough, they told me it would be $59 too. It's not until I said "You're advertising locally for $19" that I was told that that price was for a limited time only for the show at the Cox Convention Center, and they needed to update the advertising.

After pressing some more, I found out that the $19 tickets still apply to both the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman (where the speakers will be live) and the Cox Convention Center Exhibit Hall (where it will be simulcast).

It appears, they're not completely upfront with the cost. So if you call and don't mind a simulcast or going to Norman, make sure you specifically ASK for the $19 ticket.
