Movie Stars Move In, Filming Begins in Guthrie

GUTHRIE, Oklahoma -- Some big name movie stars including Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Casey Affleck and Simon Baker are in Oklahoma filming a new movie "The Killer Inside Me."

Jill Simpson, the director of the Oklahoma Film and Music Commission, said getting the crews into Oklahoma took nine months of work between her office and the production crew, but everyone is excited to begin shooting.

"Everyone is thrilled to be here," Simpson said. 

After briefly shooting in New Mexico last week, the crews moved in and began their first day of shooting Monday after moving into Guthrie Friday night.

"This is the first day of principal photography in Oklahoma. They'll continue shooting for the next six weeks all over the state," Simpson said.

Despite New Mexico having better filming incentives than Oklahoma, the Oklahoma commission was able to win every shooting site location except one.

Simpson said she doesn't have a number yet on the positive impact this film will have on the Oklahoma economy but she knows many Oklahomans are employed on the set and the crews are already spending money during their time in our state.
