Steve is a Columbia, Missouri native who graduated from Mizzou's Journalism school in 1988. He has worked the past two decades as a reporter in Savannah, Ga., Fort Myers, Fla., Kansas City, and most recently in Minneapolis.
Steve was one of the first reporters to the scene of the I-35 West Bridge Collapse in 2007 and his reporting helped KSTP win a National Headliner award for its coverage of that tragedy. Also while at KSTP, he won an Emmy in 2010 under the category of "Breaking News," after a Maplewood, Minnesota police officer was murdered while sitting in his squad car.
News is how Steve pays the bills, but his passion is sports. He began his career in 1988 as a news and sports photographer, first in Greenville, S.C. and then at WFLA in Tampa, Fla. He also spent a week covering the 1993 Super Bowl at the Rose Bowl, and will never forget it.
