U.S. Attorney General William Barr said Thursday that he has directed the Bureau of Prisons to assess whether they can allow eligible inmates to move to home confinement, given the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing guidelines. Barr said the the factors that would need to be assessed are: age and vulnerability to coronavirus, the inmate's conduct while in prison, and whether the inmate poses a threat to the community based on their crime.
