BLACKWELL, Oklahoma -- A traffic stop ends in a drug trafficking arrest in Blackwell.

Around 1:50 a.m., Blackwell Police stopped a car at Main Street and McKinley Avenue. Officers called in a drug dog which responded to the odor of drugs inside the car. Police search the car and found more than 45 grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe and a loaded handgun.

Police arrested Edgar Charles Vincent of Tonkawa. Acting on a search warrant, police found drug packaging material, scales, firearms and surveillance equipment inside Vincent's home in Tonkawa.

Police say Vincent's arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation by the Blackwell Police Department since 2010. Police say they believe Vincent to be a major drug dealer in the Blackwell-Tonkawa-Ponca City area.

Vincent faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of CDS without a tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing, and information obtained could lead to further arrests.

Police say David Fox of Tonkawa also was arrested at the residence in Tonkawa by Tonkawa Police on charges of possession of CDS with intent to distribute.
