OKLAHOMA CITY -- Winter will continue to grip Oklahoma for a few more days, bringing frozen precipitation to some parts of the state on Thursday.

A mixture of light sleet or light freezing rain is possible in southern counties, while snow should be the primary form farther north. Accumulations aren't expected to be significant, although bridges and overpasses may become slick while temperatures are below freezing.

At 8:30 a.m., Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews in central and northwestern Oklahoma reported mainly wet roads with a few slick spots on bridges and overpasses in Custer and Washita Counties.

The cold air will remain over the region through the rest of the week, with another system possibly bringing wintry precipitation that will become more liquid as temperatures warm.

Thursday morning lows will be around the freezing mark with temperatures only making it into the lower 40s. Tonight and into tomorrow starts the chance for some winter precipitation with the chance for precipitation continuing through Saturday.

Highs will only get into the 40s throughout the rest of the work week with highs making it into the 50 this weekend.
