OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma wide receiver Corey Wilson's condition has been upgraded to serious at an Oklahoma City hospital following a two-car crash last week in which he was thrown from his sport utility vehicle.

Wilson's family released a brief statement Monday saying he remains alert and awake, and a spokesman for the OU Medical Center says Wilson's condition has been upgraded to serious.

"We appreciate all the thoughts and concerns regarding Corey. He remains alert and awake. Right now, we just hope that people will keep him in their thoughts and prayers as he begins the recovery process." - The Wilson Family

The 20-year-old sophomore from Carrollton, Texas, was critically injured Friday when his SUV collided with a pickup along Interstate 35 and overturned near Pauls Valley.
