El Reno Couple Seeks Owner of Medal Found

EL RENO, Oklahoma -- An El Reno couple is searching for an Oklahoma soldier today. They may have a special medal that belongs to him or her.

Garry and Danielle Pirkle found a military medal near the Cox Convention Center on February 20.

After doing a little research online Danielle realized she had found what's called a National Defense Service medal.

It's given to any soldier who served his or her country during the Korean, Vietnam or Gulf Wars as well as our country's current War on Terrorism.

"Knowing that you're going to serve your community for the rest of your life, a small medal at the beginning of your life with the military might be pretty important to them," Garry Pirkle said.
