OKLAHOMA CITY -- An execution date has been set for a man who beat an Oklahoma child to death.
The body of 8-year-old Shane Coffman was found in a freezer behind Donald Gilson's trailer in Newalla back in 1996. Investigators believe Coffman died in August 1995.
The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals set Gilson's execution date for May 5. He will be the second inmate put to death in Oklahoma this year.
