OKLAHOMA CITY -- Roofing companies are keeping busy after the hail storm and tornado outbreak, two weeks ago.

Much of the destruction was obvious, but a quick look at a house's roof may not show all of the damage.

Most companies will give you a free estimate, call one out, if you suspect hail hopscotched all over your home.

"It's been really busy," said Tim Schwenke of Metro Roofing Company. "We've been trying to get out as fast as we can to take care of people's claims."

Before signing a contract, home owners are advised to check a company's reputation through the Better Business Bureau and the company's registration through the Secretary of State's office.

"There are plenty of companies that can come in and do a very good job and there are plenty of companies who are interested in making a buck," said Bob Manista of the Better Business Bureau.

The price of shingles is going up 10 percent next month, which could mean hundreds more on the total cost.
