High winds are roaring through parts of Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey
Thursday knocking out power to tens of thousands.

The wind was probably to blame for the death of a 61 year old woman in
Northern  New Jersey. A large branch crushed her car in Mountainside early
Thursday.  Another woman in nearby Newark was crushed and killed by a
fallen tree  at a supermarket parking lot.

New York City area airports are reporting an average of three hour delays due
to the weather. Commuter train service from Connecticut into the area is also
experiencing delays as fallen trees cause track obstructions and wire damage.

At least 21 thousand homes in New Jersey and over four thousand in New York
lost their power as wind gusts as high as 55 miles per hour toppled trees and
brought down branches.

The region remains under a high wind warning until late Thursday night.
