OKLAHOMA CITY -- While most of the ice has melted, some patches of the slick stuff are still causing problems. The issue is the north side of buildings where the sun doesn't hit the ice.

Geri Dougherty knows about the problem all too well. She slipped on ice and broke her hand in multiple places.

"It was horrible. It was like a sharp pain, like something sharp just hitting my arm," Dougherty said.

Paramedics said they've seen plenty of these types of accidents. The best advice they can give, just be careful.

"You just really have to watch your step and look before you step on things because it can be anywhere," paramedic Christina Sutherlin said.

If you have to walk across an ice patch, it's recommended you take small, slow steps and put your arms out for balance.
