CHANDLER, Oklahoma -- A 2.4 magnitude earthquake scared residents but did not do any damage Thursday night in Lincoln County.

The quake occurred about 7 p.m. near Chandler, about 40 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. Read the USGS Report.

Joey Wakefield with Lincoln County Emergency Management said the 911 system was overloaded with calls.

"We've never had so many 911 calls for a quake, ever," Wakefield said.

No injuries were reported, but many residents reported their furniture moved and their houses shook.

It's the second earthquake in the state this week. A 3.4 magnitude quake shook Grady County, southwest of Oklahoma City, on Monday.
