Federal Charges Filed in Fed Building Bomb Scare

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Federal charges were filed against Roderick Lamar Robinson, 30, of Oklahoma City, Thursday for making a bomb threat Wednesday at the Federal Building, located at 301 NW 6th in Oklahoma City, announced John C. Richter, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.

A bomb squad was called to the federal building after Robinson walked into the building at about 12:35 p.m. Wednesday and refused to go through security.

Robinson then ran out of the building and left a backpack with two notes that said there was a bomb in the backpack and a bomb in a car parked outside the building, said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Greg McCalister.

A bomb squad checked the backpack, the suspects' car and the building for a bomb, McCalister said. The building was evacuated.

It was later determined there were no bombs in or around the Federal Building.
