OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City fire officials rescued a man after his kayak capsized Sunday afternoon.
The man was rescued from the cold waters of Lake Overholser after a kayak instructor heard calls for help and called 911.
The kayak instructor, Matthew Woodson, also assisted fire officials with the man's rescue.
The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
"He was in bad straights. We had to get him in as soon as we could and luckily we did," Woodson said.
Woodson said going out on the water alone is never a safe idea.
The victim's name and condition have not been released.
