OKLAHOMA CITY -- With many budgets facing shortfalls, metro moms and dads are reselling their children's old clothes for extra cash.

Many parents are showing up at a local store, the Children's Orchard, simply to donate, but more and more are coming in to turn their children's goods into more dough.

"Some days, we've bought more than we sold. Though, there's definitely an increase of people turning their clothing into cash and turning equipment into cash," said Children's Orchard owner Tiffany Jaecke.

At Children's Orchard, you bring in your kid's old stuff and the store either gives you cash or store credit. Then, the store resells those items for prices that are much lower than first-hand retail stores.

Rachel Sallee's little boy has out grown most of his clothes. She's a full time mom with two jobs while her husband is finishing school. Turning her kid's clothes into cash has really helped out.

"His room was all cluttered up so, I gathered them all up and brought them in. I figured I can get him some new things too while I'm here," Sallee said.

Once items are checked to make sure they are in good condition, the store pays cash on the spot. When gas prices were higher, the store saw an influx of people coming in to sell items and they expect the popular trend to continue.
