OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Maldonado family is made up of women.

One works with special education children at Prairie Queen Elementary, while another watches children at a daycare and is studying to be a nurse.

Brynn Maldonado, the youngest of the family, is learning about Christmas this year. The two-year-old knows about the ornaments, the lights and the Christmas tree.

"Yesterday, she walked over to the tree and said, ‘Mommy, is Santa going to bring me some presents?'" Brynn's mother Alondra Maldonado said.

The tree was once filled with presents, but after someone broke into the home and ransacked the rooms, the gifts are gone.

"It was terrible to see all the presents that we worked so hard to pay for...gone," Alondra Maldonado said.

Sharon Maldonado, Brynn's grandmother, is devastated.

"I just can't believe it that someone would do that," Sharon Maldonado said.

Most of the gifts were for Brynn, including new clothes and toys.

"I'm just scraping to get by and it took me a long time to get the money to buy all her gifts," Alondra Maldonado said. "I don't know how I'm going to do it."

In addition to the gifts, the thieves stole jewelry, a laptop, and other electronics. The robbers even stole the family's food.

To help the Maldonado family, viewers can drop off donations between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the NEWS 9 studios, located at 7401 N Kelley in Oklahoma City. In an effort to deliver all the help as soon as possible, NEWS 9 is asking further donations be brought by close of business December 19. Checks can be made out to Alondra Maldonado. For clothing donations, Brynn is a size four.
