Man Trapped in Collapsed Trench

LAWTON, Okla. -- A 29-year-old man has been trapped for since 12 p.m. Tuesday, following a trench collapse at a construction site.

The sewer-line trench is located at a housing addition construction site near SW 82nd and Lee Blvd, in South Lawton.

Lawton emergency crews along with Oklahoma City emergency crews continued working throughout Tuesday night to extract the unidentified man.  He was in stable condition, and will be taken to an Oklahoma City hospital after he is removed from the trench.

Emergency crews were able to maintain communication during the incident to ensure the man's safety.

Police said he is the only one injured, and they are working to stabailize the area so they can free him.
