EDMOND, Okla. -- An autopsy report was released in the death of an Edmond high school student who died during surgery in September.

Heather Harkness, 17, died while undergoing an appendectomy at Integris Baptist Medical Center.

The Sante Fe volleyball player's death was ruled by the medical examiner as a tragic death. The report shows that during the procedure a surgeon "nicked" Heather's artery, causing her to bleed to death.
