Bethany police search for robbery suspect

BETHANY, Okla. -- Authorities are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store Saturday morning.

Police said the suspect came into the Bethany Food Mart on NW 23 Street around 8:30 a.m. waving a gun and demanding money.

The store clerk set off a silent alarm and grabbed a hand gun. The clerk shot at the suspect who returned fire. Neither person was hit.

The suspect then fled the scene.

"The clerk said she looked into guys eyes and she got feeling that no matter what she did, whether she gave them the money or not, that he was going to kill her anyway," Bethany Police Capt. John Reid said.
