2 OKC children hit while crossing street

Oklahoma City police are on the scene of an auto-pedestrian wreck that involved two children.

The wreck took place this morning at SW 23rd Street and Agnew.

Officers said the two children were hit as they were trying to cross the street to go to nearby Columbus Elementary School.

One of the children was transported to the hospital with a broken leg, police said. The other child sustained more serious injuries. The exact injuries were unclear. Neither child's injuries are considered to be fatal.

The children's names were not released.
