Child hit by car near bus stop

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A boy was injured Monday morning after he was hit by a pick-up truck near NW 91 Street and Northridge Drive.

Police said the driver tried to speed past a school bus when the suspect lost control of the car and hit the boy. The truck then ran into a tree.

The child was taken to an area hospital with a possible broken leg.

The driver tried to run away but was quickly caught. Police said there appeared to be stolen property and possibly alcohol in the pick-up.

The driver was taken into custody.
