OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's been seven days now since an Oklahoma City woman disappeared, but an encounter with police last month could explain her disappearance.

Judy Jo Lindsey, 65, drove off to the drugstore last Friday and never came back.

Authorities have been looking for Lindsey for almost a week. But a month ago police in Nichols Hills were in hot pursuit of her.

On the night of September 21, a Nichols Hills police officer noticed Lindsey's car heading west on Wilshire, travelling well above the speed limit.

Officers pursued her car down several Nichols Hills' streets, sometimes at speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour. Finally, near the intersection of Wilshire and Pennsylvania Avenues, she stopped in a circle driveway.

"As the officer got out of his car and approached hers, she pulled off of the driveway, drove through the yard at the officer, striking him as he was trying to get out of the way. He was not injured severely, but she did strike him," Nichols Hills police officer Bruce Funderburk said.

After half-hour, police caught up with Lindsey in the garage of her home. She was arrested and booked into jail.

"When we spoke to her family at the house when she was taken into custody, they indicated that she had begun to have some emotional and mental problems in the weeks and months just prior to this incident. And that they felt that was contributing to the cause of her doing this," Officer Funderburk said.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney's office has filed felony charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and eluding a police officer against Judy Jo Lindsey. She'll have to face those charges if and when she is found.

If you see Judy Lindsey or have any information on her whereabouts, call Oklahoma City Police.
