SAND SPRINGS, OK -- A tip led Tulsa and Sand Springs Police to the 3800 block of South Peoria Monday afternoon where they found a missing 8-year old Sand Springs boy.
Sand Springs Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter said Jason Sun-Bear Costes had apparently had a fight with his 11-year old sister on Sunday and decided early Monday morning to run away.
Carter said officers were initially sent to a home in the 400 block of North McKinley shortly before 7 a.m. Monday.
The parents of Jason Sun-Bear Costes told officers their son was last seen Sunday night. When they checked his room Monday morning, Jason was gone.
Carter said there was no sign of forcible entry and it appears the boy dressed himself in blue shorts and black tennis shoes before leaving.
Police officers and other volunteers went door to door across Sand Springs. In addition, police activated their "Child Is Missing" system, which calls every phone in a selected area.
A caller to Sand Springs Police reported the boy was walking along South Peoria. Tulsa Police went to check and found Costes.
Carter said the boy was reunited with his parents.
