OKLAHOMA CITY -- Residents of the Pine Hurst Apartments were evacuated Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out in the complex, officials said.
Fifteen residents of the apartment complex, located at 12401 N MacArthur Boulevard, were evacuated.
"I was just watching TV, then the next thing I know someone was banging on the door, and I thought they were just playing around at first," resident David Peters said. "Then I opened the door and they hollered 'fire,' and I looked up and the side wall was on fire. So we grabbed the things we needed to and got out of the apartment."
Officials aren't sure what caused the fire, but they know it started on an apartment balcony. Only one unit in the building was seriously damaged by the fire, according to officials.
One woman was treated for smoke inhalation. No other serious injuries were reported.
