Before you rent an apartment, it's so important to read the contract word for word.
But there are some landlords who are notorious for not following the contract - and that's why it's important to double check where you're about to rent.

Go to http://oklahomacity.bbb.org/  to check out them with the Better Business Bureau.

You can also call the state's Attorney General's Office to see how many complaints, if any, have been filed against the management.  (405-521-3921).

If you run into problems with your landlord, the "Metropolitan Fair Housing Council" is a great resource for you.  They are advocates for tenants and they know the landlord/tenant act.
Call them at 232-FAIR for more information.
